This task has been basically accomplished, what is missing is a check that the clean options are transferred correctly and performed orderly in the O'Mega-Subdirs.

Finally, the sub-configure also vanished in the 1.xx sub-tree. I also tried to smoothen the clean and other make targets in order to get a better performance. There might still some minor issues show up in the future but I close this ticket now. Changes have been made as described here in r1191.

make distclean e.g. does not clean up completely inside the O'Mega subdirectory. I pledge for abandoning the O'Mega sub-configure as it is BY FAR to error-prone!!!
