Description
This is actually not used, currently (only application is the state matrix in a particle set, if nontrivial) but should be verified or fixed, for later extensions.
It could be relevant for simulation with 'polarized' flags on, didn't check this yet.

There is no real use case (yet), but some nontrivial unit tests.
