The only thing to decide what event formats to implement. HEPEVT is useful, I would say, as a quite common - though old-fashioned - ASCII format. The SHORT and LONG variants of WHIZARD 1 seem to be private variants, of which I am not sure whether we need them at all. For back-compatibility, I would include the old LHA format, it does not cost much. STDHEP has its own ticket (#47), and about the JETSET/PYTHIA/PYLIST formats I am very uncertain.

After HEPEVT works, I will do the rest of the formats. ;)

Has been done in r1960. Tested in qedtest.sin. Note that the helicities are only written in the ASCII files for polarized final states. Closing.
Currently supported: raw format for internal use, HepMC, LHEF.
The question is still open which formats have to be supported (probably some ATHENA format).
