Description
Reconsider and possibly revive the methods and features for custom data output (histograms, plots, arbitrary data). Currently they are disabled.

Actually, what was so ugly on CS's implementation that we do not wanna reinstate this. WK, do you have some fancy idea here!? Or is just perfectionism? Please comment.
